Before lighting the candle, trim the wick to about ¼ inch using a wick trimmer or scissors. Long or bent wicks may cause uneven burning, tearing or reignition.
Keep the wax tank free of candle wicks, match pieces or fragments at all times.
Candles must be burned in a safe space, placed on an insulated object, and strong enough to hold dripping or melting wax.
Light a candle in a well-ventilated room:
Avoid placing in vents or air vents to prevent rapid or uneven combustion, soot generation, etc.
In general, it is recommended not to burn candles for more than four hours at a time and to allow them to cool for at least two hours before relighting.
When lighting candles, use long matches or a long-distance lighter. Keep hair and loose clothing away from flames.
Burns:
Not unattended.
Do not light candles on or near any inflammable objects, away from furniture, curtains, bedding, carpets, books, paper, inflammable decorations or other inflammable objects.
Keep away from children and pets, and do not place lit candles in areas where children, pets, or other objects could be knocked over.
Do not touch or move a candle while it is burning or the wax is melting.
Residual wax needs to stop burning at a height of ½ inches.
Keep burning candles at least 3 inches apart to make sure they don’t melt into each other and cause anomalies.
If the candle flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim and straighten the wick before relighting it.
Never use a candle as a night light or while sleeping.
Be very careful if candles are used during a power outage. Flashlights and other battery-powered lights are safer sources of light during a power outage. Do not use candles to search for items in the wardrobe during a power outage or to fuel equipment, such as lanterns or kerosene heaters.
When extinguishing a candle:
Be careful, either with candle clippers or candle extinguishers. Do not put out candles with LIDS and do not put out candles with water, which can cause hot wax to splash and may cause the glass to burst. Before leaving, make sure the candle is completely extinguished, the remaining wick does not burn or smoke, and do not touch or move it until it is completely cool.
Do not use a knife or sharp object to clean the wax from the glass container. It may scratch or damage the glass, making it unusable later.
